3 Parks Close to Williamsburg North

Indianapolis Apartments in a Great Location

Williamsburg North’s location close to Broad Ripple, Castleton, and just minutes from downtown Indy provides residents with an ideal home base. In addition to being close to grocery stores, big-box retailers, and independent shops and eateries, Williamsburg North is near three parks that offer fun for the whole family!

Skiles Test Nature Park
About 3 miles east of Williamsburg North, Skiles Test Nature Park includes a paved path, as well as a few foot paths that wind through the woods and an open prairie area. From the tiny parking lot along Fall Creek Parkway, the initial ascent into the park has an elevation gain of 825 feet! Past that point, though, the terrain is flat to slightly hilly, and at a steady pace, most adults could walk all sections of the trail in about an hour.

Fort Harrison State Park
If you’re looking for a longer hike, a place to mountain bike, or a spot for ice-fishing, you’ll want to check out Fort Harrison State Park, about 5 miles east of Williamsburg North. This sprawling park has several trails of varying challenge levels, a large sledding hill, and a nature center that offers educational classes. The entrance fee (which may change yearly) is $7 for in-state vehicles, and if you intend to spend a lot of time in this park or other Indiana state parks, you can buy an annual pass ($50 in 2020, but subject to change).

Broad Ripple Park
Due west of Williamsburg North off of 62nd Street, Broad Ripple Park has walking trails, open fields, a playground, and a dog park. In warmer months, the park is often host to small festivals and events (including an array of food trucks).

Have Fun Where You Live
Williamsburg North’s playground, dog park, picnic areas, and (seasonal) swimming pool give residents plenty of options for having fun without driving anywhere! When you live here, you get more than an apartment – you get a neighborhood that truly feels like home.
